Outdoor kitchens as resort amenities

Cooking stations for pool decks, beaches and rooftops, planned with your design team.

01 Amenities

The outdoor kitchen among your resort amenities

Pool bars and poolside grills are familiar resort amenities. A kitchen where the chef cooks in front of the guests is different: dinner becomes an evening by the water.

We plan hotel outdoor kitchens for pool decks, beaches and rooftops with FREILUFT. Cabinets, fronts and worktops are made to order in the FREILUFT Manufaktur in Nordwalde, Germany, and every station is planned with your architect and your food and beverage team. We currently plan kitchens in Florida, starting in Miami. For condominiums and HOAs, see condo amenities.

02 The places

By the pool, on the beach, on the roof

Pool deck. A station next to the pool serves lunch and sunset dinners without guests leaving the pool deck.

Beach. Salt air and sun are part of the brief. The cabinets are made from 5/16 in (8 mm) marine-grade aluminum, and the surface has Off-Shore powder coating with a chromate-free, nano-ceramic pre-treatment. Every station needs a firm, weather-resistant, non-combustible base; gravel is not suitable. On the beach, that means a prepared base instead of sand.

Roof. On a rooftop, weight, wind load and delivery are planned with your structural engineer. Read more about rooftop kitchens.

03 The fire

A real wood fire as part of the stay

An open fire draws people in. At the station, the chef cooks over a wood fire in a grill-and-fire element built from stainless steel, cast iron and firebrick, in front of the guests.

The fire is planned where fire codes and house rules allow it. Every grill-and-fire element and the wood-fired oven need a draw tube, and under a roof or covering a roof duct is required. We clarify fire protection early with your architect, your engineer and licensed partners.

04 One design

One design across the property

The pool bar, the beach station and the rooftop kitchen can follow one design concept. All stations are planned from the same modules, and fronts come in standard colors in fine texture, with nearly all RAL colors available on request. For the counters there are natural stone worktops in Nero Assoluto, Anthracite Black, Taj Mahal and Calacatta Brazil.

Your designer chooses color and stone to match the interiors and the landscape. There is a unique manufactory number on every kitchen, so each station stays traceable.

05 Installation

Planned around your operation

Cabinets, fronts and worktops are made to order in Germany and arrive ready for assembly. On site, we work with licensed Florida contractors and your general contractor.

Installation by your licensed contractors is scheduled with your operations team: in agreed time windows and in phases where the site allows. At handover, your staff are trained on daily use, cleaning and care.

Questions about a hotel outdoor kitchen

Frequently asked questions

Both are possible. A station can be run by your kitchen team or used by guests, for example at villas. For shared use, a station can have lockable drawers and doors with stainless steel locks, available as an option.
