01 The system
Three parts of one system, planned together for one place.
The FREILUFT Kitchen is built from straight runs of PureAlu cabinets. Drawers, sink, cooling and the grill-and-fire element are planned into the runs, so the kitchen follows your space and the way you cook, from a single line to an L-shape. As a Space-Defining Kitchen, it gives a terrace or a pool deck its center.
The FREILUFT Island stands freely on the terrace or by the pool, with drawers you reach from both sides. Use it to prep, to serve or as a bar, or choose an Island variant that holds a Big Green Egg kamado.
FREILUFT Fire: a low cabinet system that forms a bench or lounge with a grill-and-fire element and log storage. It turns the evening fire into a place to sit, talk and cook over wood, in the same materials and colors as the kitchen.
02 Material
Behind every front stands the PureAlu Cabinetry System made from 5/16 in (8 mm) marine-grade aluminum. The cabinet body is built from precision-milled aluminum plates, stress-relieved so they stay straight and dimensionally stable. It is assembled with concealed connections, with openings only where the engineering requires them.
The alloy is marine-grade aluminum AlMg 3.5, an alloy class proven in shipbuilding. Off-Shore powder coating with a chromate-free, nano-ceramic pre-treatment protects the surface against sun, humidity and salt air, so the kitchen is built to stay outside year-round.

05 Origin
FREILUFT kitchens come from Nordwalde in Germany, from a manufactory with its roots in stove building. That is where the real wood fire at the center of the kitchens comes from.
Every kitchen is planned from an approved layout drawing and made to order. It crosses the Atlantic by sea, and on site we set the cabinets and stone worktops, while Florida-licensed contractors make the foundation and the connections. Pricing depends on the layout, the modules, the stone, the appliances and your site. We give you a fixed quote after the design, with every position listed. It is designed for it. The cabinets are made from marine-grade aluminum AlMg 3.5, an alloy class proven in shipbuilding, and the surface has Off-Shore powder coating with a chromate-free, nano-ceramic pre-treatment. Near the sea, regular cleaning keeps salt deposits off the surfaces. More on the material.
Clean aluminum and the coating with mild soapy water, clean natural stone without acids, and lubricate the hinges twice a year. For small chips and scratches, use a touch-up paint pen, included with every original delivery. We also offer a care check before the hurricane season in May and before the main outdoor season in November.
The kitchen does not need to be covered. It is built to stay outside year-round and comes with storm hooks in the plinth that secure the doors. Before a storm, secure cushions and loose items as you would with any outdoor furniture.
The kitchen needs a firm, weather-resistant, non-combustible base; gravel is not suitable. The standard plinth levels a slope of up to 1 9/16 in over 39 3/8 in (4 cm over 100 cm). We check the base, the slope and the connections during the site visit.
Each kitchen is made to order after you approve the layout drawing, then shipped by sea and installed by Florida-licensed contractors. We confirm the schedule with your quote and keep you informed during production. See the design process.
Often, yes, especially with gas, power, water or a roof connection. What applies depends on your city or county. We prepare the documents for the licensed contractor and clarify the permits early, so the permit process is part of your schedule.
Cabinets, fronts, worktops, storage and the grill-and-fire element come from Germany; built-in gas and electric appliances are US-certified appliances sourced in the United States. The system has modules with cut-outs for built-in appliances such as a gas grill, a kamado, a griddle or a refrigerator, and the grill-and-fire element for cooking over wood. Grills and appliances.
